Polypectomy

Polypectomy

A polypectomy involves the removal of polyps that sometimes develop in the uterus or other areas of a woman’s reproductive system. Most are not cancerous and show no symptoms but can cause abnormal menstrual bleeding. A polyp should be removed, however, if it is causing abnormal pain, bleeding, or tests show it may become cancerous.
